Experimental Feature: 3D mesh export is currently in experimental release. Geometry quality and depth mapping may vary across different skybox styles and scenes.
Skybox AI converts your 360° skyboxes into 3D GLB mesh files for use in game engines, 3D software, and AR/VR applications.
How to Export a GLB Model
Method 1:
- Generate a skybox Create any skybox using your preferred style and prompt.
- Click Download in the top-right corner of the prompt-bar.
- Click Launch 3D Creator within the prompt-bar
- Click Download GLB button in the bottom right corner.
Method 2:
Use the export endpoint to request GLB generation programmatically. You can find the API Documentation here.
Mesh Quality Settings
GLB exports support three mesh quality levels that affect polygon density and file size:
- Low: Faster loading, smaller file size (~30-40MB)
- Medium: Balanced quality and performance (~ 40-50MB)
- High: Significant detail, larger file size (~ 60-70MB)
- Epic: Maximum detail, larger file size (~ 200-300MB)
Higher mesh density provides smoother geometry for close-up viewing but increases rendering overhead.

Depth Control
Adjust the depth exaggeration of your 3D mesh to control parallax intensity:
Depth Scale Range: 3.0 to 10.0 (default: 3.0)
- Lower values (3.0-5.0): Subtle depth, flatter geometry
- Higher values (7.0-10.0): Pronounced depth, exaggerated parallax
Skybox AI generates environment spheres designed for parallax effects during camera movement, not individual 3D objects. The depth scale enhances spatial perception in VR headsets and game engine navigation.

Preview Options
Wireframe mode: Toggle wireframe view to inspect mesh topology and polygon distribution before downloading. This helps evaluate whether your chosen mesh density is appropriate for your use case.
Common Use Cases
Game engines: Import GLB into Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot as environment skybox meshes.
3D modeling software: Use in Blender, Maya, or Cinema 4D for scene backgrounds.
Web-based 3D: Compatible with Three.js, Babylon.js, and WebXR frameworks.
AR/VR applications: Works with WebXR, A-Frame, and VR development tools.
Limitations
Environment spheres only: GLB exports create 360° environment backgrounds, not individual extractable objects or assets.
Depth estimation accuracy: Depth mapping is AI-generated and may not accurately represent complex spatial relationships or fine details.
Geometry artifacts: Highly stylized or abstract skyboxes may produce unexpected mesh topology or depth distortions.
Scale consistency: Depth perception varies between scenes. The same depth scale value produces different parallax effects depending on the original skybox composition.
Performance consideration: High mesh quality with elevated depth scales significantly increases polygon count and may impact real-time rendering performance.
Not suitable for collision geometry: The generated mesh is optimized for visual parallax, not physics simulation or collision detection.
